Nextar Q3 3.5 Inch Portable GPS Navigator

Over the last few years, Nextar has really improved their products so when I was able to get a Q3 GPS navigator to try out I was more than willing to see how well this model would perform. A close friend had one of these and they let me take it for a test drive so I could see if I wanted to purchase one in the future. Read further and see how the test drive went and if I will be purchasing one in the very near future.

Design wise the Nextar Q3 is like most others that are on the market today. It comes with a 3.5-inch color screen with bright vibrant colors that I really liked. A speaker on the front of the model was something that was nice as well. It worked very well and you could understand the voice prompts very easily, which was good. Sometimes it is hard to understand things through some of these speakers, but I had no problems at all with this model. It uses an Intel PAX255 300MHZ processor and has built-in maps of all 50 US states. You also get 1.6 million points of interest as will. A 64MB built-in SDRAM and a 1GB built-in flash memory also are included as well. All nice additions if you ask me. It weighs around 6 pounds and has dimensions of 5.1 x 1.2 x 3 inches.

Once you power up the machine it gets a fix on the satellites quickly which is something that is a plus. The touch screen seems very easy to operate and program. Many times companies add more things than is necessary and all that ends up doing is confusing or just frustrating the consumer and they never come back. The Q3 did none of that and getting to the route and mapping features were very easy. This model comes with AC and DC adapters, which is very important for a couple of reasons. I was able to sit in my home and program everything I needed into this model before I even got into the car. You can pop this in your shirt pocket and take it wherever you are going without any problems at all. Just pull it out and program it anytime you want. This is something I really like. Now the great features do not end there though.

The SD/MMC slot means you can carry your own music with you. You may wonder how well it comes with a built-in MP3 player as well. This is a nice touch and more companies seem to be adding these as standard equipment. This one works very well and sounds good as well. I like the ability of being able to customize my music as I travel down the road. Let us talk about performance now about the Nextar Q3. Programming a route into it is very easy and I have to admit it is very accurate and gives you the best route to take. The voice prompts are also great and the performance level of this model ranks very high in my book. I did not think this company could produce such a great performing product, but I was wrong. The Q3 has many great things go for it.

Overall, I really like what the Nextar Q3 can do. You get a nice colorful 3.5-inch screen with touch screen menu. This feature works very well and all the time I used it no glitches at all. Second, I like how portable this unit is. Since you get both an AC and DC adapter, you can virtually take this anywhere you want to go. It will fit in your shirt pocket, purse, or briefcase so travel is no problem either. It also has a built-in MP3 player, which means you can also listen to your favorite tunes when you go on your next trip. It performs well in all aspects and I really could not ask for anything more. It is very affordable as well so the Nextar Q3 is a winner in my book.

Most companies who come into the GPS market seem to struggle, but Nextar seems to have found their stride. Each new product gets better and this is just one example of that. The Q3 does many great things, but most of all it is a solid performer and that is what people want from a company. They want a product that will get the job done. This one definitely will do that will no problem at all.
