Tracking – Tracking handheld GPS units sometimes combine navigation and mapping but add their own flair when giving you features. For instance, if you are standing in the same location as in the other two scenarios, you would be able to get maps to locate where you are because this device is meant to track where you are going. Once you begin walking, it helps you store your routes so that you can get back to them. If you need to get directions to a location, many of these devices can help you do that also, but mostly they are meant to help you return somewhere you’ve already been.
