As technology improves, it becomes easy to expect the most convenient and speedy service possible from virtually any product you purchase. Let’s take the computer for instance. Not that many years ago, if you found a CPU with a Pentium processor, you felt you were the king of the neighborhood. If you could log onto the Internet and check your email, or build a simple webpage, you were the king of the Universe. Of course now, having a Pentium processor basically sets you back ages in computer years. The same advances have taken place in the short life span of navigation units, meaning that it is important for companies to keep up with consumer demands. Luckily for you, if you’re looking for an up-to-date device, you can find it with the Uniden Trax350 GPS unit.

Why This Device?

You may be wondering why the Uniden Trax350 GPS unit would be suggested over others on the market. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great ones out there. But this system is one of the only ones available that offers a 450MHz processor. What does this mean exactly? Well, imagine that you’re traveling to what you thought was a familiar location until you realize that you may very well be lost. It’s pitch black outside and the one thing you’re thinking about is how quickly you can make your way back to familiar ground. The last thing you want while in the middle of this spooky situation is to have your navigation system load up maps back to civilization at turtle speeds. By offering such a fast processor, you don’t have to wait long to find the map you need. Instead, you simply enter the destination you want to reach, have the lightening fast processor load it for you, and be on your way back on track to reaching your location.

What Else Does it Offer?

In addition to the fast processor, you can look forward to a plethora of features with the Uniden Trax350 GPS unit. A few include:

3.5-Inch Touchscreen – This unit features a standard 3.5-inch unit with touchscreen capabilities that allow you to navigate just as easily through the system as you can navigate through the streets.

Preloaded Maps – Whether you’re traveling throughout the continental United States, or venturing out to Puerto Rico, you can take advantage of clear street-level maps that have been preloaded onto the systems 2GB internal memory.

Extra Memory – If you want to add more maps to the unit, you can easily upload new ones to an SD card then download them to your system using the SD card slot. Also, you can use the memory card to expand the amount of memory available for your system.

Turn-by-Turn Voice Prompted Navigation – Some people are able to easily look down and around while magically focusing on the road, but many of us are not able to multitask in this way. If you are a person who prefers to keep their eyes on the road rather than look at the system’s screen for navigation instruction then you’ll love the Uniden Trax350 GPS unit. Because it offers voice-prompted navigation instruction, all you have to do is plug in your starting and ending locations in the then allow the system to call out all of your turns and exits until you reach your destination.

Millions of Points of Interest – Another key feature of the Uniden Trax350 GPS unit is the POI (points of interest) database that offers you access to millions of hotels, ATMs, gas stations, museums, restaurants, theaters, amusement parks, convenience stores, and much more by simply scrolling through the list for the city you’re in. After you’ve found the location, you select it to be your next destination then allow the system to guide you, turn-by-turn, to that point of interest. It doesn’t get any easier.

Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery – To ensure that you have plenty of hours to enjoy your system, this device comes with a rechargeable li-ion battery that offers up to five hours of life before needing recharging. This amount of hours can give you time to travel to distant locations then take some time to recharge your own body before starting another several hours of traveling.

So does it seem that the Uniden Trax350 GPS unit is for you? If not, then first explore its other features, which include text-to-speech read-outs, 32MB of RAM and a windshield mount for easy viewing. If after reading all that you can take advantage of with the Uniden Trax350 GPS unit you still aren’t sold – you just might want to look at the Uniden Trax438 then get back to me. Good luck and happy shopping!

How much do you know about the advantages of owning an auto gps system?

Auto gps systems
We all love to save time and money. These are two advantages of owning an auto gps system.

An auto gps system can save us time by:

Finding the exact addresses of the places we need to be, quickly and efficiently. No more running around in circles. No more asking for directions that we may or may not understand. Plus, we can find the shorter routes possible, thus saving time.

An auto gps system can save us money by:

Helping us to route the shorter routes possible from destination to destination. In return, this will save us on fuel costs and the wear and tear to our automobiles.

Sounds great doesn’t it? We all love to save time and money. But what else can an auto gps system do for us?

Did you know that they can help us track our speeds? This can help us to avoid costly speeding tickets and possibly help keep us safer. By driving at safer speeds we may also be avoiding accidents and the rising cost of insurance costs that incurs sometimes when we are involved in an accident. Plus, those horrible doctor and hospital costs, not to mention possible court fees.

Did you also know that they can help us to time how long it will take us to reach from point A to point B.? This can help us as we are planning our day and keep us from over planning, as many of us are prone to doing.

Did you know that most auto gps systems will keep a history of all the places you have been recently? Picture this. You just found an out of the way restaurant and you fell in love with their food. You want to go back and take your best friend. Yet, you fear you will never find the place again. Have no fear; you can track it again in your history mode. Then your friend can be as happy with the newly discovered place as you are.

Did you know that an auto gps system has many maps stored within it when you first buy it? Most of these maps are maps of the United States, including Puerto Rico. Plus, you can also get these systems that include maps of the Canada. Imagine, you can travel to all of these places confidently, on the spur of the moment without having to stop at your local travel agency for maps. Plus, you can always add more maps as you need them easily from most computers via a serial or an USB port.

Did you know that an auto gps system have many points of interests stored on these maps all ready? Points of interests are interests that may make a driver’s life easier to know where they are located such as: gas stations, ATM’s, hospitals, police stations, etc. These are points of interests that are located all across the United States along most interstates and major highways. Plus, most auto gps systems will allow you to add your own customizable points of interests as well.

Did you know that most auto gps systems come with an easy to read display unit? You can buy these in both colored and a grayish format.

Did you know that auto gps systems comes in both portable and dash mountable models? Portable models comes in many sizes, some small enough to fit in your purse or pocket.

Did you know that you can buy auto gps systems online and at your local retail stores? You can find these at electronic sites and stores as well as auto parts stores and sites.

Did you know that you can buy auto gps systems at affordable prices? You don’t have to be rich to buy these anymore.

Did you know that you can buy auto gps systems that are factory installed in some automobiles when you first buy them or have they installed yourself?

Did you know that these auto gps systems are easy to use and that you do not have to be a computer genius to use them? In fact, any person who is able to drive an automobile should be smart enough to figure out how to use most auto gps systems in a matter of minutes.
Did you know all the advantages of owning an auto gps system? Were you surprised at some of the advantages and some of their capabilities? Don’t be shocked for too long. Go and buy your own auto gps system today and tell others the list of advantages in owning one.

Sometimes a product comes along and at first glances, you wonder what they were thinking and I must admit that was my first impression from the Gamin V GPS unit. Now being a person who is not judgmental I thought I would give this product the benefit of the doubt as Garmin is the top company in this field so a field test would definitely tell me how this one stacked up. Read a little further down to see if this model made the grade and is a recommended buy or not.

The design of the Garmin V GPS unit is different from most but that does not take away from its performance at all. The main reason I was looking at this model is because it is very portable and you can take it from your car to a hike on the trail without any problems at all not many models will actually let you do that. One of the biggest plus that this model has is the ability to auto route which the market it is design for many other models do not have that yet. This is a low end product and you seldom see that on models like this, which a nice added touch from Garmin was. It gives you turn-by-turn directions with no voice though, which really was not a problem for me. Sometimes I will admit I do get tired of hearing the voices on some of those GPS units. It does beep for upcoming turns and I found out that was more than enough for me.

Easy to use big buttons really are a huge plus when you use it in your vehicle as the smaller buttons on certain models are tough to deal with especially when you’re trying to drive as well as navigate. This model comes with a CD that will let you download maps and points of interest onto the Garmin V GPS unit. The maps are good and the points of interest are a very good amount so this should be no issue either. One of the things that Garmin does for their products is give you optional accessories and the V has many to choose from such as remote mount auto antennas, surface mount marine antennas just to name a couple. Now the real question that most people have is how well this unit does perform and really does it have any limitations.

Performance wise the Garmin V GPS unit performs exceeding well. From the vehicle to everyday use, it will give you no problem. What makes this model stand out from the crowd is how it is adaptable to whatever arena you will want to take it into. For example if you are an outdoorsman and love to hike than this model can also be taken and used in that method as well. In fact, it works very well in that environment and with the low-end price; this is something that you may want to consider. Of course, you can also use it in the car so it has more than one function, which is what I like. Most units that you buy these days have one function and cannot be adapted to other things that you may do in your life that is why this model is great.

Overall the Garmin V GPS unit has many things going for it. One of the biggest for me was that it is very portable and can be used for hiking to a Sunday drive in your vehicle. Battery life was very good and it has enough memory for you to add additional maps especially if you plan a hike somewhere remote. This model also has large buttons, which make it easy to operate. Most models have smaller buttons and especially in vehicle use are very tough to press while you are moving. Most GPS units just have one purpose as this can do many different things well which is something that you will like. Low-end price means that if you have never tried this technology than this is the perfect first unit for you. easy to operate and low cost means you will be able to feel around and see how things go and if this is really what you want before you spend a lot more money for a more expensive model. The Garmin V GPS unit is a model that everyone should give a try and they will be surprise at what this small but powerful little unit can really do.

Are you ready to take a serious road trip around the country but simply don’t feel like buying a new map for every city you plan to visit? Well, for most, the alternative would be to map out directions ahead of time with some type of online mapping solution that can give you turn-by-turn instructions of how to get from point A to point B. The only problem is, you have to know what those points are in order to get the directions, and if you plan to take a somewhat haphazard trip, you can’t anticipate where you’ll be until you get there. People with your free-spirited attitude can benefit greatly from automotive GPS systems. It maps out directions for you, can give you navigational instructions, is already in your car with you, and most importantly, allows you to travel safely.

About Automotive GPS Systems

More and more people everyday are falling in love with automotive GPS systems. Why? Because they are so convenient! By buying one of these devices, you get to completely avoid having to buy printer paper every time you want to print off new map instructions. And by them being very user friendly, you don’t have to worry about one being too advanced for your capabilities. Think about it, they can’t make it too difficult if you have to use it while you’re in operating a vehicle.

Now let’s learn a little more about these systems.

Automotive GPS systems (also known as global positioning systems) are devices that use a set of coordinates based on latitude and longitude geography to give you the exact position you can be found on earth. It was originally a great tool for military officials to use as tracking devices, but over time, technology wizards discovered the system’s usability in everyday life – and as a result, you can find many of these systems in cars driving right alongside you.

People use these systems for a variety of reasons; one being that they want to map out directions from the location they currently are to a location they would soon like to arrive. By punching in the address locations in the device, it is able to give you a map with a line drawn to and from each location. In addition, if you get a more advanced system, you can use it for navigational purposes that give you turn-by-turn directions, and even lets you know if you’ve begun to head in the wrong direction.

This bonus is perfect for people who get lost easily – and if for those who don’t, but are taking a trip to an unfamiliar area without many public locations to ask for assistance. Even more, if you are that avid road tripper who doesn’t know where you’ll end up until you get there, you’ll benefit greatly from one of these automotive GPS systems as you won’t have to continuously ask for directions in each city you arrive in – and you’ll even be able to map locations based on their proper name, eliminating the need to have an address in tow.

How Can I Get My Hands On One?

If you find yourself intrigued by the thought of getting your hands on one of these convenient and, for the most part, affordable devices, let’s look at a few ways that you can find them available to the public.

Get It Built In to Your Car – Many automotive GPS systems are now found as an optional (and occasionally standard) feature in a new car you buy off of the lot. By having the system built into your car’s dashboard when you purchase it, of course you have little to worry about later – it is already there waiting for you. However, because the car dealership or company may have already established relationships with specific companies, you may find yourself obligated to a system that you don’t really want or need – or worse, one that is astronomically more expensive than one you could have bought on your own. Car dealers are known for hiking up the price for additional features, whereas had you done the work yourself you could have saved hundreds or maybe thousands of dollars. So keep this idea in mind if you are thinking about having one of these devices included in a package deal – make sure it is really a deal.

In-Dash Add-On Systems – Often times, you can go to an auto store after you’ve bought your car to add on the items you want. In the case of the automotive GPS systems available, you can do the same. These add on systems come with a great deal of features – as do the built in systems – including a large LCD display, AM/FM stereo, CD player, and a navigation system. You might also find climate control, Bluetooth capabilities that link you to your cell phone, and the ability to watch DVDs (while not driving). While they are not as expensive as the built-in units, they can still be a little bit pricey because of their innumerable features.

Portable Devices – A popular way to acquire one of these systems is to buy the more affordable, and usually compact, portable device. There are several brands that are popular among customers, including Garmin, Magellan and TomTom. Unlike the built-in or add-on units, these are simply made to attach to your dashboard and are great for those who have multiple cars but only need one unit. All of the brands out there have their own features that make them unique and desirable, but they each come in a sleek design that works well inside any style automobile.

No matter of the many automotive GPS systems you want to purchase, they all have the ability to direct you to your destination with great accuracy and reliability. Your only decision will be to determine how you will acquire one, whether it be through purchasing a new car, getting one built in later, or simply buying a portable version. After you’ve made your choice, you will join many others who benefit from the convenience and security of their automotive GPS systems guiding them through the country with ease.
