It announces street names so you can always be sure your going in the right direction. This feature also means you will keep your eyes on the road more instead of looking down at the device.
Where Am I? This is a feature that you will probably use very often. At a touch of a button it will tell you exactly where you are. You will be able to plan routes from this point as well and is a feature that you will come to love. Preplanning is another feature of the Nuvi 5000 travel assistant that more and more people are using more often. It lets you preplan 10 routes into your device ahead of time. This means you can get going instead of having to plan on the road which in reality will save you a lot of time.
Now you would think with all these features there could not be more, but there is. The Garmin Nuvi 5000 travel assistant comes with many travel tools that you will use over and over again. It has a JPEG picture viewer and a built-in MP3 player that can be played through your car radio speakers. Many times we get tired of the music that we hear so why not customize the MP3 player to play your favorite tunes instead. This is just another great feature of the Nuvi 5000 travel assistant. Garmin games is something that will keep you busy for hours as they have some great games you can play. One feature that many people overlook, but is very important is the Garmin Lock. This feature makes sure that if your device is ever stolen the only way it will work is if they know the code that must be inserted before it will work. If they do not it is inoperable and useless to the thief.
As you can see the Nuvi 5000 travel assistant has many great features that you will use over and over again. Garmin products are always easy to operate and have a very small learning curve so that is something that I really like about their products as well. This unit is also very affordable as well which something that you will also want to consider is.
