What are the best gps units

How do you decide?Deciding what the best gps units are Best gps

Do you decide by which units are selling the best? Are the top sellers really the better units or are they: advertised more, have they been produced at higher numbers, are they being sold at stores or sites that get more attention or have they been reviewed and rated more?

Do you decide by prices?

Does the most expensive models mean that the systems are higher grade? Do these systems have more capabilities and functions than cheaper versions? Are these systems easier to use?

If this is the case, does this mean that the lower price systems are lower in capabilities and functions?

Do you decide by the type of gps unit? To you is a better unit a portable unit? Or do you like the mountable units better?

Do you decide by the types of gps units your friends own? Do you automatically assume these are the best?

Do you decide by making wise choices? By wise choices, do you read the research on the various models, do you make the lists of the needs and capabilities that you need the most, do you ask friends and sales people what they think of current models and brands?

People have their own ways at looking at what makes anything better or best. Yet, when it comes to gps units there should be some deciding factors that should be added up in this mental equation of some sorts.

Yes, price is one of these factors. If the price is much more expensive that other models with similar capabilities and functions, it will lose points and probably won't be considered the best selected gps system.

Accuracy should definitely be one of these factors. Think about it. You need a gps system that gives you the exact address you need and will actually pull up the exact course or map you need at any given moment. If the gps system, fails often, it is a poor gps system, not a good gps system and certainly not one of the best models.

The ease of use should also be a factor you consider. If you can't actually use the system or understand how to get most of the capabilities to function properly, what use is it to you in the long run? It would be just another expensive device that collects dust instead of being used.

Finally, you should consider its capabilities and functions such as:

It’s mapping ability. Does it have the maps you need all ready downloaded? Can it save your mapping history, such as the exact addresses of places you have been? Are the maps easy to understand?

Can it keep track of your speed and the distances you travel? Many people find both of these things quite useful when tracking their next courses.

If you become lost, does it have trackback ability? You never know when you may need this?

Does it have the points of interests you will actually use all ready downloaded or are they customizable so you can input them? Do you need an alert to warn you of upcoming points of interests?

What about how the gps system gives you directions? Would you like turn by turn directions? Would you like text to speech commands? Would you like to be able to hook up the system to work via your automobile's own speaker system?

What about the design of the display? Are the buttons in easy to locate places? Is the lighting good at various angles and sun settings?

If you are buying a portable model, how big is too big and what are your weight expectations? Do you need one that is stylish?

If you are buying a tracking gps system, do you need one that works with a cell phone or a wrist watch?

Do you need a really durable gps system? Do you plan on using the system inside or outside? Does it need to be waterproof?

Yes, all of these questions do matter. They help you to pick out which systems may be the best GPS systems for you.

Yes, many systems may make the best gps systems lists and reviews. But if they don't live up to your expectations or your needs it won't matter. Once you purchase it, you will be disappointed. For that reason, plan on what is best for you, buy a gps system that fits your needs and budget. That is the ultimate way for you to decide what the best gps systems are and to avoid purchase mistakes.
